The Joyful Mysteries - South Main Baptist Church

The Houston Chamber Choir joins Kinetic Ensemble and The Monarch Chamber Players for the world premiere of Daniel Knaggs's new major work, The Joyful Mysteries, a choral symphony for choir, chamber orchestra, and soloists. Commissioned by Holy Rosary Church (Houston, TX), the work explores five mysteries of joy, which come to be even in the context of fear, sorrow, and suffering. A trio of illustrious soloists include Gemma Summerfield, soprano, Sarah Mesko, mezzo-soprano, and Federico de Michelis, bass-baritone. Performances will take place on Oct 6th and Oct 7th at 7:30PM. Tickets are $45 for general admission, $39 for seniors and veterans, and $10 for students. This concert has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 16th at 7pm due to a power outage!

We are thrilled to be back at St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church to kick off our fourth season! Douglas DeVries, Dave Connor, and Yvonne Chen will present a concert of classical music inspired by jazz, folk music, and dance. Performing original and reimagined works for flute, bass, and piano trio, the program will include works of J.S. Bach, Claude Debussy, George Gershwin, and more. Admission is free and open to the public, with donations accepted to support our performing artists. We look forward to seeing you there!
